New Delhi: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) demanded a change in the date of entrance examination for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) scheduled for 31st May 2011, which clashes with the Aligarh Muslim University entrance examination date of MBBS/BDS.

A delegation led by Ajmal V, SIO president of JMI zone, met Vice Chancellor Najeeb Jung and submitted a memorandum demanding immediate change of entrance examination date of BDS course of JMI.

The Vice-Chancellor assured the delegation that the university will change the date soon and every applied student can appear for the examination in both universities.

“There are many students from all over India, mostly from Muslim community, who have applied for both prominent central universities, which have minority character also. Therefore, most students will lose the chance to appear in examination in any one of the universities if the date is not changed” said Ajmal V.
