Lucknow : Two men suspected of supplying explosives to Maoists have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district with a huge quantity of gelatin rods and electronic detonators, police said Friday.
The two men were nabbed late Thursday in Maholi area, some 350 km from here, along with over 300 electronic detonators, 50 gelatin rods and several fuse wires.
“The two were caught moving suspiciously near a police outpost. We definitely cannot rule out the possibility of their links with Maoists,” police inspector Yogesh Yadav said.
“The two are giving contradictory statements about the place from where they brought the explosives,” he added.
One of the two men hails from Bihar while the other is a native of Jharkhand.
