Andhra minister’s wife offers ‘puja’ to EVM

By IANS,

Hyderabad : In a unique way to pray for the victory, the wife of a minister in Andhra Pradesh and the Congress candidate for Kadapa Lok Sabha seat D.L. Ravindra Reddy offered ‘puja’ to an electronic voting machine (EVM).

Before casting her vote at a polling station at Kazipet in Mydukuru assembly segment, Subhadramma performed ‘puja’ rituals as the polling officials on duty made no attempt to stop her.

She broke a coconut and applied ‘mokku’ (an item used for puja) on the EVM, praying for the victory of Ravindra Reddy.

At another polling station, she entered into an argument with polling officials, accusing them of favouring a particular party.

Health Minister Ravindra Reddy is contesting the by-election against Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy of YSR Congress party and M.V. Mysoora Reddy of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
