For progress, modern education must for Muslims: VP

Bangalore: To move along with the changing time and to be in the race, Muslims must get modern education along with religious one, said Vice President of India Mohd Hamid Ansari here on Sunday while addressing at the concluding session of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Dar-ul-Uloom Sabeelur Rashad.

To move along with the fast changing world, the Muslim community must get skill and modern education. They must stick to their beliefs but must learn to adapt to the changing world, said the VP.

He also said that people should move ahead and ask for things that are needed and should not wait for the government to come and provide them with all facilities.

The program was also addressed by Governor of Karnataka, Dr. H.R. Bhardwaj and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan.

In his speech, Mr Bhardwaj talked about right to equality and stressed this is the gift from Islam. He said that Article 14 of the Constitution also mentions it and says Right to Equality is the gift of Islam to humanity.
