Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala IT companies have made inroads into Denmark’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) market as part of a strategy unveiled to help small and medium enterprises identify new business opportunities, a statement said here Wenesday.
A delegation of the Kerala IT industry, headed by state IT Mission director Ishita Roy, is in Denmark to facilitate business meetings for IT entrepreneurs from the state.
The delegation comprises IT industry representatives and state government officials. A series of networking meetings and business interactions were organised in partnership with the Kerala government and the Group of Technology Companies (GTech) and Invest in Denmark, an arm of the Danish foreign ministry.
Roy said that Kerala’s IT industry could play a critical role in sustaining the competitiveness of Nordic economies by offering cost competitiveness and quality solutions.
“This is the first major initiative aimed at showcasing and linking technology companies from Kerala with their Danish counterparts,” the statement issued by GTech quoted Roy as saying.
The Danish ICT market offers unique opportunities for the Kerala IT industry, the statement said, adding emerging sectors such as clean technology, health, mobile applications and life sciences have been identified as the thrust areas for the Kerala IT industry to partner with their Danish counterparts.
