Kolkata : Partha Chatterjee, Trinamool Congress candidate and the leader of opposition in the outgoing assembly, retained his seat Friday with a huge margin of 59,021 votes.
Chatterjee, who is expected to get a key portfolio in Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet, got 127,870 votes in Behala (West) constituency. Anupam Debsarkar of the Communist Party of India-Marxist came second with 68,849 votes.
