Azamgarh holds seminar on Environment and Water Conservation

Azamgarh: The District Science Club, Azamgarh with due support from Department of Computer Science, Shibli National College, Azamgarh, organized a Seminar on “Environment and Water Conservation” at Shibli Academy, Azamgarh. Activities included Scientific Lectures, Documentary film, Debate, Poster and Slogan writing.

The seminar held on May 10 started with recitation of verses related to water conservation (followed by translation) from Holy Quran by Maulana Kaleem Sifat Islahi with Mrs. Sheela Srivastava, Chairperson Municipal Board, Azamgarh, presiding.

Mr. Amir Jamal Khan, presently District Science Coordinator Mau, introduced the Science Club and encouraged students to participate in its activities. A number of students spoke on the importance of water conservation and emphasized on saving this precious life sustaining resource. Later on students took part in Poster presentation and Slogan writing. Dr. Abu Shahma, Head Chemistry, Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad, Head Geography and Dr. Javed Ali Khan, Head History, all from Shibli National College judged the students on their performance. After Mrs. Srivastava’s departure for another engagement, Dr. Niyaz Ahmad Daudi, Manager Fatima Girls College, Daudpur, Azamgarh, presided and gave away the awards in association with Judges to participants securing First, Second and Third positions.



Dr. Salman Sultan delivered a power point presentation on “Why conserve Water?” and Mr. M.N. Beg showed a documentary on the grave future scenario when we will have acute scarcity of water. Maulana Umair-us-Siddique and Dr. Feroze Talat appreciated organizing such valuable programs for creating awareness.



Audience

This successful Seminar where young boys and girls showed great interest was well organized by Mr. Amir Jamal Khan with active support from Mr. M.N. Beg, Computer Department, Shibli National College and Mr. Vishal Bharti, Director, Advance Phonology Centre (APC), Azamgarh.
