Justice S. Muralidhar stayed the order which had asked the Supreme Court to explain the reasons for their rulings in cases after a petition from the apex court’s registrar general.

The CIC order was based on a Right to Information appeal filed by R.S. Misra, whose special leave petition had been dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Misra wanted to know why his petition was dismissed, and whether the bench followed the principles of natural justice.
