Special Judge O.P. Saini caught the artist drawing sketches of former communications minister A. Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and telecom company honchos from a vantage point close to his dais.

After the illustrator ignored the initial warning, the court ordered seizure of his sketch papers. Police personnel present in the court took away the five-six pages on which he had drawn sketches related to the court proceedings.

Judge Saini said: “Have you seen how I have slapped a fine of Rs.10,000 on the petitioner for filing a frivolous petition in connection with the 2G case? I may also impose fine on you. Do you want such a fine be imposed upon you?”

Finally, the artist apologised to the judge and said: “I will not do the same again”.

Before allowing the sketch artist to leave, the judge destroyed the sketches in the courtroom itself.

The court also took a copy of his identity card and his phone number.
