Lucknow: Light to moderate showers in parts of Uttar Pradesh early Tuesday turned the weather pleasant here in the state capital and in adjoining districts.
A dip in the average minimum temperatures by 2-6 degrees Celsius was recorded in districts of Uttar Pradesh following the showers, officials at the state Met office here said.
According to state Met Department director J.P. Gupta, light to moderate rains accompanied by squall would be witnessed primarily in eastern parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
With Lucknow receiving 11.8 mm rainfall, the minimum temperature was recorded at 20.4 degrees Celsius – six degrees below what is the normal temperature for this time of the season.
Likewise, Bareilly received 9.8 mm rainfall, where the minimum temperature was 22.3 degrees Celsius – four degrees below the normal temperature.
A dip in the average minimum temperatures by two degrees Celsius was recorded in Varanasi and Gorakhpur, that also received 0.8 and 3.2 mm rainfall respectively.
