Beijing : Gales and hailstorms have brought down around 1,500 houses in a Chinese province, affecting over 33,000 people, officials said.
Though there was no report of casualties, residents of four counties of southwest China’s Guizhou province have been badly hit by the natural disaster that began Nov 4, Xinhua reported.
About 1,900 hectares of farmland have been damaged. The economic loss is estimated to be around 1.4 million yuan (around $220,500), the provincial civil affairs bureau said.
