Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had offered that closed units be put up for auctions as a solution to the land problem.

“Auction will not happen now. We have to identify sick units, get rid of logistics and legal barriers and then we will put up those units for auction,” Chatterjee told reporters on the sidelines of a programme organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here.

A few days ago at a programme at Dasnagar in Howrah district, the chief minister had offered a solution to the dual problem of land for industry and unemployment in the state, saying closed units could be put up for auctions and workers of from those units could be absorbed in the other operational units.
