Mumbai: The US consulate and the American Center in Mumbai, that recently moved from south Mumbai to the swank new business district in the suburbs — the Bandra-Kurla Complex, feature state-of-the-art green technology, said Peter Haas, the US consul general in Mumbai.
“The new consulate premises feature state-of-the-art green technology, including high-efficiency lighting, a grey-water recycling system and a self-contained waste water treatment facility,” he told reporters here after they took a tour of the new facility.
The new consulate premises will house all US government offices in Mumbai, including the department of state, the foreign commercial service, the food and drug administration and the foreign agricultural service.
“Our new home reflects the overall trend of US-India ties. Our relationship with India is growing and modernising, and our consulate must do the same,” Haas said.
The American Library, previously located at Churchgate in south Mumbai will reopen to the members Dec 5 with enhanced facilities.
