Kolkata : Services in the country’s largest lender State Bank of India were crippled Saturday due to an internet snag, severely inconveniencing thousands of customers ahead of the festive season.
With the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) also mostly not functioning since the morning, there were impromptu protests by the customers in many branches of the bank.
“There has been a server problem all over India,” the bank’s Assistant General Manager (Public Relations), Bengal Circle Subrata Biswas told IANS.
AN SBI official in a south Kolkata branch said there were at least 300 angry customers inside the branch.
