Mugil Jayavel moves into sole lead in chess tournament

Chennai : Mugil Jayavel, a student of local Don Bosco School, defeated Ramakrishna Perumalla (AP) and moved into sole lead with 7.0 points in the United India Insurance-CDCA FIDE Rated chess tournament here Friday.

Following the leader half a point behind were the talented duo from Velammal School, Prasannaa S and Osama Salim at 6.5 points.

Sharing the fourth spot at six points were Woman FIDE Master Srija Seshadri, ML Abhilash Reddy, Ramakrishna Perumalla, L Barath, Chakravarthi Reddy M Vishal Iyer, Venkata Krishna Karthik K and Singh Soram Rahul.
