Congress disapproves of Digvijay’s letter to Hazare

By IANS,

New Delhi : The Congress has disapproved of party leader Digvijay Singh’s second letter to Anna Hazare, saying there was no need of a communication after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had written to Hazare a day earlier.

“After the prime minister’s letter to Shri Hazare, I don’t think it was required to send any communication to him,” party general secretary and media department chairman Janardhan Dwivedi said Wednesday.

In his letter Wednesday, Singh sought to question Hazare over the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh support to his anti-corruption agitation, and wondered if the activist had not read the letter sent to him by Sangh leader Suresh Joshi.

Dwivedi said the whole country knows that the RSS and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had repeatedly said they are with Anna and were making “certain arrangements” for their campaign.

A Congress party leader said on condition of anonymity that issues were important and not individuals.
