Kolkata : The West Bengal government has decided to hold an awareness rally here against the use of firecrackers during Diwali, a minister said Monday.
“We have decided to take out an awareness rally in the city to make the masses aware about the problem of firecrackers,” Environment Minister Sudarshan Ghosh Dastidar told IANS.
Every year during Diwali and Kali Puja, the bursting of firecrackers causes a lot of sound and air pollution.
The environment department is planning to conduct the rally with the help of school students.
