Islamabad : About 200 lawmakers in Pakistan have not yet filed their statements of assets and liabilities with the election commission, a media report said.
The lawmakers have not filed even though a period of over two weeks has passed since the expiry of the last date specified under law, a source told Dawn Wednesday.
The law says the election commission should have suspended their membership Oct 15 through a notification.
Submitting the asset and liability statement is a mandatory requirement for the members of the senate and the national and provincial assemblies. The annual statements have to be for themselves, their spouses and dependents.
