Lucknow : Two railway officials were Thursday crushed to death by a passenger train while repairing tracks along the Lucknow-Sultanpur route in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Rail signal inspector B.B. Pandey and gangman Amit Shahu were knocked down by the Sultanpur-Lucknow passenger train near the Rehmatnagar railway station.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the two could have ignored the initial warning regarding the movement of the train on the tracks close to the repairing site,” said an official with the government railway police (GRP).
“A detailed inquiry is still being conducted,” he added.
