Kolkata: West Bengal’s opposition Left Front Saturday extended its support to the countrywide “jail bharo” agitation of central trade unions Nov 8.
The Left Front appealed to the working class of the state to participate in the protest over issues of price rise, corruption, violation of labour laws, disinvestment and privatisation.
“The teachers, workers, bank employees and the working class of the state will participate in this ‘jail bharo’ agitation to make it a grand success. We appeal to all the parties and organisations under the Left Front to participate,” Left Front chairman Biman Bose said in a statement.
“The state Left Front which is organising a continuous programme against the corruption of the central government from Nov 1 to 6 will highlight the cause of the Nov 8 ‘jail bharo’ agitation extensively,” said Bose.
