Eid on Nov 7 in Kerala

Kozhikode: Eid will be on November 7 Monday in Kerala, announced the major Muslim organizations in the state. The crescent was not sighted on October 27. Hence the Dul Hajj began on October 29, Saturday. So, the Eid will fall on Monday.

The date was announced by the leaders of major Muslim organizations in the state such as Muslim League president Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal, Samastha Kerala Jamiyathul Ulema general secretary Cherussery Sainudheen Musliyar, Kozhikode Qazis KV Imbichammad, Panakkad Nasir Abdul Hayy Shihabudheen Thangal and Muhammed Koya Thangal, joint Qazi of Kozhikode-Wayanad-Malappuram mahalls Kanthapuram AP Aboobaker Musliyar, representative of Kannur qazi MV Abdurahman Musliyar, representative of Thrissur qazi PV Moideen Kutty Musliyar and Kerala Jamiyathul Ulema president A Abdul Hameed Madeeni.

Moulavi Jamaludheen Mankada (Imam of Palayam Juma Masjid in Thiruvananthapuram) and AP Abdul Qader Moulavi (Kerala Hilal Committee chairman and general secretary of the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen) had announced earlier itself that the Eid would fall on Monday.

Meanwhile the Hijra Committee of India headed by M Ali Manikfan had announced earlier itself that the Eid would fall on November 5 (Saturday) as per scientific calculation of the movements of the moon.
