Dr Nuruzzaman, son of Ex Muslim League MLA and State Minister Hasanuzzaman, demanded setting up of a Mentor Group for Aliah University like Presidency University during the Budget Session of the state legislative assembly. Dr Nuruzzaman said that after being converted into Aliah University, the oldest madrasa has been much neglected. Some courses are being conducted by a private organization, he said. It should be removed and the government should form a high level committee like Presidency University Mentor Group.

It is a fact that most of the classes of Aliah University are now conducted in a rented house at Sector-V, Saltlake City. Most of the Universities have modern campus in Saltlake area, but Aliah doesn’t have any campus in Saltlake City.

To keep the glory of Presidency University the chief minister of West Bengal has taken special initiative, but she is totally silent on Aliah University.

Meanwhile, during an Eid sermon in the city, the Imam said that CM Mamata isn’t earnest about solving the problems of the minority community while she has solve many other issues.

The largest gathering of Eid in Kolkata was on Red Road. The offer there is conducted by Khilafat Committee. CM Mamata Banerjee was invited to the Red Road before the Namaz by the Committee. Mamata Banerjee attended before Namaz. Imam Qari Fazlur Rahman delivered his speech before namaz and said that Mamata led Government wasn’t earnest about solving the minority community’s problems, though she has solved very quickly Singur issue, Goorkha land issue, Jangal Mahal issue.

It is hoped that after Fazlur Ramman’s command, MLA of Trinamul Congress Dr Nuruzzama’s proposal could be taken fast. Already Mamata told the reporters on 1 September that Muslim reservation would be done very shortly.
