New Delhi: Marginalized groups including Dalits, Tribals, Backwards and Minorities have come up with their own version of Lokpal Bill. A group of eminent personalities representing those groups today submitted the draft of Bahujan Lokpal Bill with the Lok Sabha Standing Committee.
Led by Dr. Udit Raj, National Chairman of All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations, the delegation met Mr. Abhishek Manu Singh, chairman of the Standing Committee that is studying different versions of the Lokpal Bill including one prepared by Anna Hazare team and another by the UPA Government.
The Bahujan lokpal Bill has provision for the Lokpal committee to have representation from dalits, tribals, backwards and minorities as it is prevalent in government services. There is rampant corruption in Special Component Plan and Sub Tribal Plan and in other schemes and money staked under these heads are embezzled, misutilised, diverted and sometimes refunded also. The new draft wants to bring all these acts under the ambit of corruption. The bill also wants to ensure that the inquiry proceeded against dalits, backwards and minorities are to be monitored by Scheduled Caste commission, Scheduled Tribe Commission, Backward Commission and Minorities commission so that the members of these communities are not discriminated on the basis of caste biasness.
