Lucknow: A grand Eid Milan was organised in the backdrop of historical Tile Wali Masjid on Sunday night. It was a pleasant sight as two seers dressed in saffron robes from Ayodhya graced the occasion akin to ganga-jamuni tehzeeb of Lucknow.
Mahant Swami Dayal Mishra of Shani Peeth, Ayodhya underlined the importance of such programmes which inculcate a sense of communal harmony in the society. “Celebrating festivals together strengthens the bonding and also upholds the unity of our country. Eid festival for me is not complete unless we have siwai at our Muslim brethren’s houses,” he said. Similar views were also echoed by Swami Shiv Shanker Pandey from Ayodhya.
Naib Imam, Tile Wali Masjid, Maulana Fazlul Mannan Rahmani highlighted the importance of Eid festival. “On this occasion of eid, we have prayed for the peace and prosperity of our country. Celebrating festivals with our friends from other community enhances the joy,” said Mannan. President, Markazi Chand Committee and Shia cleric, Maulana Saif Abbas also stressed for unity among different communities.
The function was also attended by Founder Manager, CMS, Jagdish Gandhi and hordes of political leaders as Arun Dwivedi of BSP, Rajendra Choudhary of SP, Waseem Haider of RLD also attended the function. ADM OP Pathak, Dr Zafrul Haque, Ajay Saxena of Rotary Club, Sanjay Gupta of Adarsh Vyapar Mandal, RK Awasthi, Haji Mustafa Hussain, Mohsin Raza were also present on the occasion.
A similar function was organised by Siraj Mehdi at Hotel Clarks Awadh on Saturday.
