Four-laning of highway in Madhya Pradesh approved

New Delhi: The government Monday approved two projects for four-laning of two sections, stretching 445.5 km, of the National Highway-3 (NH-3) in Madhya Pradesh.

“The cabinet committee on infrastructure approved the four-laning of Gwalior-Shivpuri section on NH-3 under national highway development programme’s phase IV-A,” an official statement said.

According to the statement, the project would be based on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis in the build operate transfer (BOT) revenue mode.

“The total cost of the project is Rs.1,102.33 crore out of which Rs.47.33 crore will be the cost of land acquisition,” the statement said.

The total length of the project will be 125.3 kms with a concession period of 29 years including construction period of 30 months.

The committee also approved the four laning of Shivpuri-Devas section on NH-3 in the NHDP’s phase IV-A on DBFOT basis.

“The total cost of the project is Rs.2,935.10 crore out of which Rs.120.10 crore will be the cost of land acquisition. The total length of the project will be 320.21 kms,” the statement said adding that the concession period to the operator would be of 29 years including construction period of 30 months.
