New Delhi : With another person succumbing to his injuries Thursday, the Delhi High Court bombing has now claimed 12 lives, authorities said.
A resident of Indra Enclave, Loni in Ghaziabad district, Pramod, 40, died here at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital, at 7 a.m.
“All we can say is one more victim has died, taking the death toll to 12,” a Delhi Police officer said.
“Pramod was brought to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital at around 12.20 p.m. yesterday,” a doctor from the hospital confirmed.
The blast has left 91 people injured, mostly admitted to the RML hospital in central Delhi. The powerful bomb was concealed in a briefcase at the crowded Gate 5 of the high court Wednesday morning.
The hospital premises wore a deserted look as the police personnel deployed since Wednesday had reduced in number.
“Four injured are in a critical condition,” said a hospital official on condition of anonymity.
“We have a few patients undergoing reconstructive surgeries also,” the source added.
Alauddin, 40, who has a leg injured, is recovering in the emergency ward 10 of the RML.
“Allah has saved my son’s life. I just want to thank him for that. I don’t know if his leg will work or not,” Alauddin’s father Abdul Rehman told IANS.
Thirteen injured who had suffered minor injuries have been discharged, hospital authorities said.
