New Delhi: The earthquake that killed 40 people across east and north India has so far not affected any nuclear power plant in the country, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) said Monday.
“There has been no impact due to this earthquake on any of the nuclear power plants of India,” NPCIL said in a statement.
“All the operating nuclear power plants continue to operate safely,” it said.
An earthquake measuring 6.8 in the Richter scale hit east and north India Sunday evening. The epicentre of the quake was 64 km from Sikkim’s capital Gangtok. The toll, by Monday evening, was at least 42.
