Authorities in Luoyang city said the two suspects were alleged to have stabbed Li Xiang, a 30-year-old Luoyang TV reporter, to death at around 1 a.m. Sunday, reported Xinhua.

Witnesses said Li was walking home after parking his car when unidentified assailants stabbed him.

The Zhengzhou Evening News reported that Li was stabbed over 10 times.

His laptop was also reported missing.

Li had worked on a story about “gutter oil” — a term used for oil that is extracted from restaurant waste facilities and reprocessed for sale again to restaurants.
