INL and National Secular Conference to work together

Kozhikode: The Indian National League and the National Secular Conference have decided to work together in public issues of common interest. The decision was taken in a meeting of the state office-bearers of both the parties. However, the parties would not merge with each other, as of now.

Both parties will work together on issues like corruption and communalism, as well as anti-imperialism. They will continue to cooperate with the Left parties in political matters. The parties will jointly hold a public meeting against corruption on November 1 in Kozhikode.

They have also reportedly decided to contact other similarly-thinking organizations, and to coordinate programmes. A new committee has been formed for the purpose consisting of Adv PTA Raheem (MLA), SA Puthiyavalappil, Felix Pulloodan, Jafar Atholi and Prof AP Abdul Vahab. Ahmed Devarkovil is the convener. A working committee has also been formed consisting of state office-bearers from both parties.
