Gopalganj: In a shocking incident four people have lost their lives in Gopalganj district when they were allegedly administered a banned anti-poison injection at government health centres of the district. The injection was already banned by the Bihar government.
The district Civil Surgeon allegedly purchased the banned injection to make money neglecting the safety of the people. The injections were supplied to 530 health centres in the district. The banned injection caused death of four people who had gone to the health centre to save their lives.
After the incident, when MLA from Baikunthpur constituency Manjit Singh visited the grieved family angry people took him in their custody and released him after 3 hours when people from other areas appealed to the villagers.
The death of four people has created fear in the district. People now fear to go to government health centres. They are blaming that there is huge corruption in health department of the district.
Meanwhile, the Civil Surgeon has been transferred. But the new Civil Surgeon has refused to comment on the incident while the DM said he would say anything only after the enquiry.
