Lucknow: Chief Minister (CM) Mayawati carved out three more districts in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Sticking to her dalit agenda she christened them after her ideology.
Mayawati was on an inspection spree and held three different meetings at Shamli, Hapur and Sambhal. She gifted the gathering by carving out district Prabbudh Nagar from Shamli, Panchsheel Nagar from Hapur and Bheem Nagar from Sambhal.
Earlier Shamli was in Muzaffarnagar, Hapur in Ghaziabad and Sambhal in Moradabad.
With the state going to poll in 2012, Mayawati harped upon her agenda vigorously. The new districts, she claimed, were carved to fulfill the long pending demands of the local people. She also inspected various development projects in these areas.
Mayawati claimed that Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar had opined smaller units for better administration and the decision was taken keeping the ideals of Baba Ambedkar in mind.
Mayawati had earlier created two new districts of Kanshiram Nagar from Etah and Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar (Amethi) from Sultanpur, the parliamentary constituency of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
