In late March, the White House named Kim, who is the president of Dartmouth College and a global health expert, as its nominee to lead the world bank.

On Friday, Siluanov met with Kim in Moscow. Following the meeting, the Russian minister said: “Taking into account Mr. Kim’s high professional qualities and his experience and knowledge, the Russian Federation will back his candidacy at the World Bank’s board of directors vote.”

“Kim is a world-class professional who has experience in practical work,” Siluanov added. “The BRICS countries set professional qualities at the top of their list when discussing candidates to be president of the World Bank.”
