Abu Dhabi : Officials from the UAE and India met here Sunday to hammer out the agenda of the 10th joint ministerial committee meeting of the two countries.
Representing the UAE side, Khaled Ghanem Al Ghaith, assistant foreign minister for economic affairs, highlighted the close ties between the UAE and India.
He said these meetings will open up new avenues for broader cooperation.
Sanjay Singh, secretary (East) in the Indian ministry of external affairs, termed the bilateral relations “strong”, especially in trade and investment.
The ministerial committee will explore ways of enhancing bilateral relations in diverse sectors such as trade, investment, energy, transport, communications, telecommunications, oil and gas, and consular affairs.
UAE and India maintain brisk trade relations with two-way trade exchange reaching $62 billion in 2010-2011.
