The 5,000 km-range missile was scheduled for launch Wednesday from Wheelers’ Island off the coast in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

“It has been postponed until tomorrow (Thursday) because of safety reason due to heavy lightning in the area,” defence ministry spokesperson Sitanshu Kar told IANS.

The successful test firing of Agni-V will enable India’s entry into the group of selected nations with intercontinental nuclear missile defence capabilities.
