The fleet of 50 semi-luxurious taxis come fitted with GPS facility and audio-visual security.

“This state-of-the-art taxi service will be available 24×7. The basic purpose is to provide safe and hassle-free services to the residents and tourists,” said Muhammad Asim Kawoosa, chairman of Snow Radio Taxi Service, at the inaugural function.

“The vehicles are fitted with all security appliances. Besides electronic billing on the road, these vehicles are connected to the master control room 24 hours a day,” he said.

Kawoosa said that initially, the first fleet of taxis would work within the municipal limits of Srinagar only. The company is getting another fleet of 50 taxis and has also applied for running the service in Jammu.

Wasim, 24, worked as a taxi driver before joining the new service.
