Ankara : Two Turkish journalists, who had been captured by members of Syria’s Democratic Union Party, have been released and are back in their own country, CNN Turk reported Thursday.
The reporters were in Syria to cover the ongoing conflict there when they were captured in Aleppo province, the centre of intense fighting between government and rebel forces.
Cihat Arpacik of the Milli Gazete daily and Kemal Gumus of the Star Gazetesi newspaper were abducted Wednesday.
The journalists were held till Wednesday evening, and later put inside a vehicle and sent to an unknown direction.
Their release was mediated by the opposition Free Syrian Army, according to reports.
