Over hundred Karbi students on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration with their demands at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Interestingly they were not making slogans against ‘Bangladeshi infiltrators’ or recent killings.

The protestors were demanding creation of “an autonomous state under Art 244 (A) of Indian Constitution comprising Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasaon District in Assam.” They condemned against discriminatory policy of Assam Government towards hills people and demanded restoration of their right to education and employment.

The protest was organized by Karbi Students’ Association, Karbi Students Union Delhi, All India Students Association Karbi Anglong Committee and Revolutionary Youth Association Hill Committee.
