Agra : Heavy showers Tuesday disrupted normal life in the Taj city.
The worst hit were Indian and foreign tourists visiting the Taj Mahal who had to scurry for cover.
Because of the rains, many tourists could not go to Fatehpur Sikri from the 17th century Taj, said tourist guide Ved Gautam.
Almost all road junctions were under water. The low-lying areas along the open drains were flooded. A long line of vehicles were stranded along the Mahatma Gandhi Road.
The Yamuna is in spate, and community ponds in the rural hinterland are also filled to the brim, an official said.
Tuesday’s showers lasted more than three hours.
