Pleasant Thursday in Delhi, showers expected Friday

New Delhi: It was a pleasant day for Delhi residents with parts of the city receiving light drizzle Thursday. The met office has forecast more rains Friday.

The capital received a total rainfall of 0.6 mm between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Thursday, against the 25.4mm rain recorded a day before.

The maximum temperature was recorded three notches below average at 31.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature settled one notch below average at 25.3 degrees.

The humidity wavered between a high of 100 and low of 77 percent.

“The sky will be generally cloudy. Some spells of rain are likely in some parts of the city Friday,” an official of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover between 32 and 25 degrees Celsius.

A total of 298.2 mm of rain has been recorded in Delhi since monsoon began June-end. The rain deficit is 37 percent.

The monsoon is expected to last in Delhi till Sep 20.
