Lucknow : A sub-inspector of Uttar Pradesh Police was arrested Wednesday in Sitapur district, 88 km from here, for sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy, officials said.
Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Pratap Singh, posted at Pisanva police station in the Netakheda village, allegedly sodomised the boy, who was acting as a night watchman in place of his father, who was taken unwell, a home department spokesman said.
The policeman called him to his room on some pretext and then committed the crime, the official said.
The father of the victim registered a case with the police, after which Singh was sent to jail.
