Amritsar : All 950 Pakistani delegates, whose names were recommended for the seventh edition of Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX), which starts here Dec 6, have been issued visas.
R.S. Sachdeva, co-chairman of the Punjab chapter of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said here that over 100 exhibitors from Pakistan are participating in PITEX, which will continue till Dec 10.
He said that six Pakistani chambers of from Lahore, Islamabad, Sheikhpura, Sargodha, Jhang and Gujarat are participating in the trade expo.
“Besides Pakistan, this edition shall see participation from Mozambique, Egypt, Lebanon, Thailand, Hong Kong, Nepal, Ghana, and Afghanistan. African diplomats from Mozambique, Algeria, Tunisia and Senegal are also participating,” Sachdeva said.
Indicating that Africa has a lot of trade potential for Punjab, Sachdeva said that since the last edition of PITEX, Africa has been added as an annual feature.
PHD Chamber regional director Dalip Sharma said: “More than 350 exhibitors are participating in the trade expo.”
