New Delhi : A 25-year-old domestic help was arrested for stealing cash and jewellery worth Rs.67 lakh from his employer’s house here, police said Thursday.
Santosh Kumar Yadav stole jewellery worth Rs.50 lakh and Rs.17 lakh in cash on the night of Dec 4-5 at his employer’s house in Derawal Nagar in north Delhi.
After the committing the theft, Yadav escaped to Jharkhand.
The police said that employer had not got Yadav’s verification done by the police and neither was he aware of his native state.
“After interrogating 50 people and raiding several places, a team was sent to Jharkhand from where also Yadav had already left,” the official said.
He was finally arrested from Shastri Park Metro station in east Dehi Wednesday.
