Haryana’s Manesar to emerge as major industrial hub: Assocham

Gurgaon : Manesar will emerge as a major industrial hub for investors in northern India and is likely to attract over Rs.100,000-crore investment and generate about 150,00,00 skilled and unskilled jobs by 2020, industry body Assocham said Friday.

‘Manesar – golden city of Haryana’, a report by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, was jointly released here by Sunil Kumar Dahiya, co-chairman, Assocham’s National Council on Real Estate and convener of Manesar Development Council, and D.S. Rawat, secretary general of the industry lobby.

Dahiya said that a large number of Japanese small-scale industries were likely to shift their manufacturing base to Manesar.

“To help and extend support to small-scale industries of India and Japan, Assocham has established its office in Tokyo a few months ago,” said Dahiya.

He said that Manesar has transformed into an industrial and commercial hub with the availability of all basic services like health facilities, schools, post office, banks, warehouses and cargo facilities.

Industrial Model Township (IMT)- Manesar has seen a massive influx of businesses from various, including realty and manufacturing.

“Already, leading global brands like Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda and Suzuki are making investments in the Manesar real estate. Also, the proposal to build an expressway to Jaipur is adding value to Manesar’s real estate,” Dahiya said.

“Most of the builders in India like Reliance, DLF, Unitech, Raheja, Vatika, Orris Infrastructure, Amrapali and Antriksh have already bought land here to develop townships,” he added.

According to Assocham, the real estate market in Manesar has seen an accelerated growth after several multi-nationals moved to Manesar. Rates of commercial properties in Manesar have increased by 40-45 percent in the last five months, it said.

The Gurgaon-Manesar Master Plan projects a population of around 400,00,00 by 2020.

Due to employment opportunities, Manesar and nearby areas like Bawal, Tapukara, Neemrana and Khushkhera are also expected to attract nearly 160,00,00 skilled and semi-skilled workers from all over the country including abroad, the Assocham report said.
