New Delhi: Teams of Delhi Police are in Bihar and Rajasthan to nab the two absconding accused in the brutal gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman in the capital Sunday, police said.
“The bus conductor Akshay Thakur and helper Raju are absconding. They are accused in rape case,” said a police officer.
Police said the two are on their radar and will be arrested soon.
Six men allegedly raped a 23-year-old woman in a moving bus Sunday night when she and her male friend boarded the bus at Munirka in south Delhi.
Out of the six accused, bus driver Ram Singh, fruit seller Pawan Gupta, gym instructor Vinay Sharma and Ram Singh’s brother Mukesh were arrested from south Delhi’s R.K. Puram area Monday late night.
Police sources said a team Wednesday evening conducted raid in Bihar’s Aurangabad district to nab Thakur. However, he escaped before the team arrived.
The police team is camping in Bihar and also taking the help of local police to nab the accused.
Police teams have also been sent to Rajasthan to arrest Raju.
