Ahmedabad : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) victory in the assembly polls was a win for six crore Gujaratis.
“This is a win for six crore Gujaratis. This is a win for those Indians who have been thirsting for peace and stability,” Modi said while delivering his ‘victory’ speech in Hindi (rather than Gujarati) here after election results were declared with a clear victory for the BJP.
“The Gujarat poll results have proved that the Gujarat voter has matured, has risen over regionalism and casteism and is concerned only about the future. I congratulate the Gujarat voters that they did not accept the lies being propagated. I am proud that Gujarat voters gave importance to good governance. Today’s heroes are six crore Gujaratis,” said Modi.
