Gosaigaon/Kokrajhar: Muslims in the Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD) are again engulfed in a mood of fear after the murder of a cab driver.
Ruhul Amin, 36 year old owner and driver of a four-wheeler from Oxiguri village in Gosaigaon sub-division in Kokrajhar was allegedly hired allegedly by a group of three Bodo boys for a trip towards Darjeeling in West Bengal on December 19.
He had called twice on his wife’s number. However, after 7.00 p.m. that day there was no contact with him and his mobile phone was switched off. As there was no trace of him the next day wither, on December 21 the family finally went to file a police complaint.
The West Bengal police found his dead body on the national highway number 31, and his neck tied to a handkerchief. His body has been sent for postmortem. His car is also missing.
Besides his parents and widow, Amin has left behind two children 14 year old Maruf Ahmed and 7 year old Shamina Khatun. The family alleges that Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) might be behind the murder.
The family appeals for fair probe.
