Myanmar president proposes administrative reform

Yangon : Myanmar President U Thein Sein Wednesday proposed the third step of a series of reforms which deals with administration.

In an address to government officials broadcast live by the state TV, Thein Sein recalled that over the past one year and nine months, the government carried out a political reform and worked for national reconciliation as the first step of the reforms, having achievements to some extent.

As the second step of the reforms, he said, the government launched an economic reform, reported Xinhua.

It promulgated a new Foreign Investment Law and endeavored for the building of special economic zones and industrial zones.

As the third step of the reforms, there is important need for an administrative reform, he emphasized.
