Aligarh: Eminent cine artist, AMU alumnus and the younger brother of the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah played a friendly double tennis match at the tennis lawns of the Aligarh Muslim University yesterday evening.
Nasiruddin Shah, paired with his brother Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah, defeated the team of Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Secretary, University Games Committee and Dr. Jamal Aziz by 11-7 in a highly charged match.

The tennis match was witnessed by all the members of Shah family, including AMU Vice Chancellor’s wife, Sabiha Simi Shah, Nasiruddin Shah’s wife Ratna Pathak Shah and the presidents of various clubs of University Games Committee. The Vice Chancellor’s son, daughters and sons-in-law also enjoyed the exciting friendly match.
Addressing the felicitation ceremony at the end of the match, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah said that the prime objective of holding this match was to inspire the students of the university towards playing games and sports as he wished that national and international level players were produced in every branch of sports from this University. He said that Prof. Mansoor’s team also played very well.

The Vice Chancellor said that his mission was to take AMU to number one position among Indian universities.
The Secretary of the Games Committee, Prof. Tariq Mansoor felicitated the distinguished alumnus of this University Nasiruddin Shah while Vice Chancellor’s wife, Sabiha Simi Shah welcomed Nasiruddin Shah’s wife, Ratna Pathak Shah with a bouquet.
