“The state government has arranged IL 76 IAF aircraft on Feb 7 from Leh town to Srinagar and from Srinagar to Leh town for the stranded passengers,” Amir Ali, officer on special duty at the provincial headquarters here, told IANS.

The state government has been arranging flights by IAF aircraft for stranded passengers in different places of the state for the last one month.

Scores of passengers were airlifted last month between Jammu and Srinagar because of the continued blockade of Srinagar-Jammu highway due to heavy snowfall.

The state government also ferried stranded passengers and patients by air from snowbound areas of Gurez, Kargil, Doda and other places those remain cut off during the winter months.
