AMU Executive Council meeting scheduled for Feb. 17 postponed

Aligarh: The adjourned special meeting of the Executive Council of the Aligarh Muslim University, scheduled for February 17, 2012 for recommending a panel of five names for the new Vice Chancellor, has been postponed till further order.

However, on the advice of Ministry of Human Resource Development to the central universities to consider enhancement in the age of superannuation of the Vice Chancellor from 65 years to 70 years subject to amendments in the respective statutes with the approval of the competent authority, i.e. the Visitor, the Aligarh Muslim University has decided to hold a special meeting of the Executive Council on the same date, i.e. February 17, 2012 at 11 am at the India International Centre, New Delhi to consider enhancement in the age of superannuation of the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University from 65 to 70 years and also to make him eligible for another term by amending the statutes 2(4) and 2(5) of the Statutes of the University, relating to appointment of the Vice Chancellor, a deferred item of the meeting of the Executive Council held on July 14, 2007.
